MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men’s swim team earned their first-ever Big 12 Conference win in a split dual meet at TCU on Saturday.
“We had a really solid effort today,” says coach Vic Riggs. “(TCU coach Richard Sybesma) and his staff have a very good team. To come away with our first Big 12 dual meet win on the road is very exciting. There were many contributing members today, but I have to say our divers and depth-position swimmers came up huge today. Overall it was a great team win.”
The men’s team earned their win by a score of 167-133, while the women’s team fought hard, but ultimately fell to TCU 164-121.
“The ladies did a fine job and it’s one step closer to Big 12s where we swim our best,” says Riggs.
