In order to give back to our alma mater and to the local community, the DFW Mountaineers have started a scholarship fund through the West Virginia University Foundation. Starting with the 2014-15 school year, this fund has awarded $4,000 in scholarships to five WVU students from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Once endowed, the fund will provide an annual $1,000 scholarship each year in perpetuity.
We have raised over $8,000 through major events over the past two years and we need to raise an additional $17,000 to reach the endowment threshold. By making tax-deductible contributions directly to the WVU Foundation, you can help our scholarship reach this level. All personal donations will count towards MAC points, with one point per every $1,000. For those of you who make regular donations to the Foundation, we ask that you consider designating the Chapter’s scholarship as the beneficiary. We will publicly recognize these members unless they wish to remain anonymous.
